Chris Daughtry does not make it to the final round of American Idol rugged singer was expected to make it all the way. But America loves an underdog as Elliot Yamin now knows.
Every online sportsbook had Yamin as the favorite to get booted from the show this week. Unfortunately for the bookies, Yamin surpassed all of his previous performances and became a genuine contender with his two Elvis renditions. Taylor Hicks also passed the test, while Katherine McPhee escaped by a thread, with two mediocre outings.
So we move into next week with three contenders. It's probably anybody's game to win. The real lesson that was learned tonight is that sometimes its good to bet against the favorite. At many sportsbooks, Daughtry paid over $1,000 for every $100 bet for being eliminated.
But don't worry about Chris. According to reports, he is a good bet to become the singer for the band Fuel, a group he very much admires and who think highly of him. Stay tuned for more of the Chris Daughtry saga.
