Harrah's Chester Harness Racing Dates Released

CHESTER, Pennsylvania -- Harness racing will return to the Delaware Valley on Sunday, September 10, when Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack kicks off its inaugural season. The 45-day meet will
  run through Monday, December 18, with live racing every Sunday, Monday and Thursday starting at 12:45 p.m.

Harrah's Chester is located just off I-95 six miles south of the Philadelphia International Airport in Chester, Pennsylvania, and promises to offer racing fans and horsemen an exciting entertainment experience when completed. Trotters and pacers will traverse a 5/8ths-mile, stone dust track that runs parallel to the Delaware River, providing a spectacular view across the water. Fans can watch the races from the new 1,500-seat grandstand area, a 20,000-square foot outdoor deck, a multi-level dining facility or from anywhere within the facility's state-of-the-art simulcast center. Horses and horsemen will enjoy the spacious accommodations of the 15-race paddock, which already has earned rave reviews for its comfort and functionality.

The Harrah's brand is synonymous nationwide with an exciting casino gaming experience, and Harrah's Chester is being designed to live up to that legacy. Pending regulatory approval, Harrah's Chester will open a 2,750-slot casino, integrating gaming and racing to provide a fast-paced, matchless entertainment environment. Harrah's currently anticipates that the casino will open by early 2007.

There will be no live racing on Thanksgiving Day (Thurs., Nov. 23). A special live card of racing will be presented on Saturday, Nov. 4, to coincide with the planned simulcast of the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships(TM). Simulcasting will be offered every day except for Christmas (Mon., Dec. 25).
