Phil Gordon's Little Blue Book
by Phil Gordon
Book Picture
Valuable sections include Cash Games AND Tournament Play; Sit and Gos; Satellites and Supersatellites. Nicely illustrated with many lessons, examples and analysis, it’s a balanced, smooth-reading textbook, some of which is based on the author's experience. This balance of common sense, strategies, ploys and an honest appraisal of what was going through his mind when he made his moves adds strength to this powerful, positive pack of lessons. One unique approach is to  'improve at poker is not by finding answers. It is by finding questions,' says champion Chris Ferguson in the foreward. This companion book to Gordon's Little Green Book does just that.

  in this year's Main Event.

From now until June 15th, Ladbrokes players will be competing for the ultimate WSOP package for European poker players who are aiming to land the big one and bring the World Champion title back to this side of the pond. Satellites start from as little as $1 and the $14,000 WSOP packages can be won in the $1,000 $90 Weekly Final that is held every Wednesday at 19:45 GMT.

Winners of the $14,000 Ladbrokes WSOP package will receive entry into the $10,000 Main Event, $2,500 expenses and 10 nights accommodation at the Rio (venue for the 2008 WSOP), which is extended free of charge for players who progress past Day 4.

In addition, they will receive entry to the Ladbrokes Player Lounge, and tickets to the Ladbrokes WSOP Welcome Party at the Legendary Voodoo Lounge on the 3rd July.

To allow European players to get over their jet lag, accommodation is provided from the 2nd July to allow at least three days acclimatisation (and recovery from the Ladbrokes Welcome Party) before commencing play in the Main Event.

Edward Ihre, MD of Ladbrokes Poker, said, "On top of the usual WSOP tournaments and satellites, the cheapest of which is $1, we're giving away over $300,000 of Ladbrokes WSOP packages to our players through our weekly Cash Game Rake Races, our Monthly MTT Leaderboard and five to the winners of our exclusive WSOP League, so everyone has an equal chance of winning a place on the Ladbrokes Poker team regardless of whether they are a tournament or cash, player, a grinder or luck box."

The Ladbrokes Team, which will again be captained by snooker legend Steve Davis, who came 579th in 2006, cashing $20,617, will also include Ladbrokes sponsored players, all of whom will be based in the Ladbrokes Players Lounge for support and to offer advice to fellow Ladbrokes players. The highly popular Ladbrokes Player Lounge will be manned at all times by Ladbrokes Event Team, providing a friendly face and ear for all bad beat stories.

Edward continued, "This year we have striven to provide team members with the best environment possible to emulate or better the two 12th place finishes the team enjoyed in 2005 & 2006 and beat the 10 major cashes we achieved in the Main Event last year. Competing as Team Ladbrokes has many benefits apart from the camaraderie and the renowned Ladbrokes hospitality that our players have come to expect. It's a chance to be part of a winning team and to enter the WSOP history book alongside names such as Joe Hachem, Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker and Phil Hellmuth."
