First Major Poker Tournament Winner of 2009 Announced

GALWAY, IRELAND - As reported by uk.pokernews.com:  "The first major tournament of 2009, the Party Poker Irish Poker Championships, concluded last night in Galway. 255 people entered
  the €2,000 main event including Kenna James, Mike Sexton and Marty Smyth, but they all fell by the wayside as UK player Ben Vinson (Son of Alan Vinson) went into the final table as the chip leader, which included Irish poker star Rory Liffey, Polish Krzysztof Gwvszk and a number of Irish circuit players, including Rory Brennan..."

The final table was energy packed from the start with Ben Vinson, Rory Brennan, Chris Dowling and David Poole throwing blows at each other right out of the gates.  When the dust settled and the chips lay Ben Vinson took third place (€55,000), Chris Dowling in Second (€90,000) and Rory Brennan on top with a massive €160,000 first prize.

With only 5 days into the new year we can expect many more exciting major poker tournaments for 2009!
