KANSAS -- As reported by the Bonner Springs Chieftain: "The Unified Government Commission has named June 26 as election day for Wyandotte County residents to cast their votes on the question of
expanded gaming. The referendum is required under the law recently passed by the Kansas Legislature and signed by Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

One would allow for a destination casino to be built in Wyandotte County and the other would allow The Woodlands Racetrack to offer electronic slot machine gaming. The two questions are independent of each other, and each stands on its own. If the casino question passes and the Woodlands question does not, Wyandotte County would have a casino and no slots at the track. Or, if the slots at track question is approved and the casino question is not, the county would have slots at the Woodlands but no destination casino..."
