SALISBURY, Maryland -- Handy International will make the first attempt to set a Guinness World Record to create the world's largest crab cake, weighing in at approximately 200 pounds.
The cake, measuring

three feet across with a depth of six and one-half inches will be cooked by Handy at the Diamond State BBQ Championship, hosted by Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, DE on Oct. 21.
Fred Bohn, Director of Culinary Operations and George Fiorile, Vice President of Hotel Operations challenged Handy to create the world's largest crab cake. Jim Cupp, Regional Sales Manager with Handy commented, "I couldn't pass up this challenge or imagine a better way to celebrate National Seafood Month."
Handy employees will mix and transport the ingredients by truck. The crab cake will be assembled to fit the custom made rotisserie-style baking pan. The special cooking apparatus was designed by Tri-State Engineering to accomplish this feat. The estimated cooking time is six hours.
