IfThere are occasions when we here at ReadyBetGo want to bring you interesting facts about the gambling industry When something catches our eye, we will publish it for your enjoyment.
you are looking to have a bet at the meeting this year, here are four selections that will hopefully help you make a profit at the end of the week.
Afaak to Win Golden Mile Handicap Stakes
— Racing Post (@RacingPost) June 20, 2018
Afaak produced the best performance of his career at Royal Ascot, where he claimed the Royal Hunt Cup, holding on by a nose in the 1m handicap. That victory made up for his second-place finish in the race 12 months earlier. Connections will now be hoping their horse can follow up his success at Royal Ascot in the Golden Mile Handicap Stakes, where the handicapper has put him up 5lb. Charles Hills’ runner does have it in him to defy that rise in the weights and he should be backed at 10/1 in the horse racing betting at Glorious Goodwood to add what will be an impressive summer double across two of the leading meetings on the Flat calendar.
Flavius Titus to Win Stewards’ Cup
The Stewards’ Cup is always one of the most competitive races of the week as the sprint contest over 6f attracts a huge field where often the draw can be a big factor in the race. One of the most progressive sprinters going into this year’s contest is Flavius Titus who has won twice in his last three starts, including last time over this distance at Newmarket. Roger Varian’s runner is now off a career high mark of 99 but there is clearly much more to come so take the in-form sprinter to be too quick for his rivals in the Stewards’ Cup.
Star Catcher to Win Lillie Langtry Stakes
Sea The Stars filly, Star Catcher, is lightly-raced as she has only had four appearances on the track but she has shown enough so far to suggest she is one of the leading fillies of her age group. John Gosden’s runner proved her class with victory in the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes under the hands of Frankie Dettori. She was staying on really strongly at Royal Ascot, which suggests she will appreciate the step up to 1m6f at Glorious Goodwood where there could be even further improvement from the talented filly.
Stradivarius to Win Goodwood Cup
— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) June 21, 2018
If you are looking for a NAP at Glorious Goodwood this year then look no further than Stradivarius in the Goodwood Cup. The defending champion is aiming for his third straight success in the 2m contest and he is going to take some stopping. Gosden’s stayer has swept up all the leading races in this division over the last couple of years, including the Ascot Gold Cup which he won for the second time last month. The majority of the opposition in the Goodwood Cup will be old rivals which Stradivarius is used to beating. He will though, now have to take on Queen Alexandra Stakes winner, Cleonte, however, he should be favoured to beat Andrew Balding’s horse here.
Enjoy all the action across the week and good luck with your bets!
