VANCOUVER, Canada - As reported by Standardbred Canada: “Great Canadian Gaming Corporation will continue to work with the District of North Saanich to develop a plan that would bring slot machines
to Sandown Park.
“GCGC is continuing to negotiate with District of North Saanich officials to determine whether or not a redevelopment deal can be reached.
“The District has said it would entertain the notion of slots at Sandown only after all details pertaining to the redevelopment and its associated cost were negotiated and fully understood. Great Canadian expects that, if a deal is reached, all details pertaining to the potential redevelopment would again be presented to the community for input and consultation before Council makes a decision.
“If it is received favourably, a building permit would likely be issued and construction would begin.
“The proposed redevelopment of Sandown includes the installation of 135 slot machines and upgrades to the simulcast area, food and beverage facilities, grandstand, barns and the development of a small equestrian centre.”
