Heartland Poker Tour Kicks Off at Hooters Casino in Las Vegas

The enormously successful Heartland Poker Tour will begin the first of its 12-month, 14 venue, televised tournaments from Hooters. HPT participants receive a special room rate. The HPT will return to Hooters next December for the final event of 2007.

HPT Tournaments were viewed in more than 50 million U.S. households this past year. “The 2007 Heartland Tour will air on 119 million homes in Europe and Asia”, Producer Todd Anderson recently announced.

“We’re delighted and excited to begin the year at Hooters,” Producer Anderson stated, “Heartland poker players will thoroughly enjoy the tournament here.

The Heartland Tour was created for players in local casinos and neighborhood poker rooms around the country. “The HPT is like the Minor Leagues”, Anderson explains, “It was designed and developed to give players everywhere a chance to make the Big Time.”

Convinced a lot of local players would like a shot at stardom, Heartland keeps the cost of participating within the reach of most people. Consequently, because there are so many participants, the prize money is exciting. Add an audience, lights and TV cameras, and players in the Championship feel like they’re competing at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.  

A HPT Tournament is customarily five days long. Preliminary events are held the first four days and the Championship event concludes on the fifth day. The elimination of the last nine players, the “final table”, of the Championship event is televised.
