OKLAHOMA -- As reported by the Shawnee News-Star: "As she tightened her grip on the beaded shovel, 95-year-old Mary Ellis helped the Sac and Fox Nation Saturday celebrate the Nation's groundbreaking
for a new casino.
"The day's ceremonies also included songs, recognitions, speakers and a reception.
"...Many of the people involved with the ceremony and making the casino happen said the road has been a long, difficult one, but the time has finally arrived for a permanent location.
"...Keynote speaker Bill Sasser said, 'This is a proud day for me and for the Nation.'
"...Sasser said construction is expected to begin within four weeks and be completed in eight to 10 months. The new casino will house 600 slots and table games.
