Ohio Track Owners and Developers Push for Slot Machines

CLEVELAND, Ohio – As reported by WKYC – “Will there be slot machines at racetracks and 'slots only casinos' in Downtown Cleveland?

“Those ideas are at the heart of a gambling
  plan track owners and developers may try to get in front of Ohio voters this year.

“Ohio's racetracks aren't what they used to be. Betters are older and fewer and more gamblers are taking dollars next door to other states. Track owners are touting a plan for slot machines at seven tracks and in two ‘slots only casinos’ in Cleveland maybe other cities too. Some just want Ohio to get in the gambling game.

“...Gambling opponents Senator George Voinovich, top Republicans and many voters are still gambling opponents.

“Developers and track owners - rivals for gambling rights - who attacked each other - met last year ago to try to get on the same page. This slots plan may be the result.
