
ALBUQUERQUE -- As reported by the New Mexico Business Weekly: Isleta Casino and Resort has broken ground on a new hotel complex next to the casino, located just off of Interstate 25 south of Albuquerque.
Isleta Hotel and Casino in Albuquerque. The 300,000-square-foot hotel will feature more than 200 rooms and suites, and among the amenities planned for the overall complex are a 24-hour cafe, a steakhouse, an indoor pool, a fitness room and a full-service spa.
"This hotel is an important part of our plan to build a true destination resort," says Rodney Ferguson, Isleta's general manager, in a news release.
Isleta Pueblo has not released the total construction cost of the project, which will be built as part of a joint venture between Bradbury Stamm Construction of Albuquerque and the Hunt Construction Group in Phoenix, Ariz. (not to be confused with the El Paso, Tx.-based Hunt Building Co., which is developing the ABQ Uptown, mixed-use development at Louisiana and Indian School Road NE). The Cuningham Group of Minneapolis, Minn. is the architect on the project.
