MASHANTUCKET, Conn. -- Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods today reported to the Connecticut State Division of Special Revenue that the property took in a net gain of $57.5 million in
MGM Grand at Foxwoods slot machine gaming revenue. This amount represents a nominal decrease of 0.8 percent in slot win and an increase of 1.3% in total slot handle compared to April of 2008, bucking the trend in the casino industry as a whole. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the casino's owner, also reported a $14.3 million payment to the State of Connecticut for April of 2009. This contribution increases the total dollar amount given to the State of Connecticut to more than $2.93 billion since January of 1993, when slot machines were first introduced at Foxwoods.
