BOSSIER CITY, Louisiana -- As reported by the Shreveport Times: Regular visitors to Diamond Jack's Casino in Bossier City are getting something extra to make up for a printing error that promised them

A voucher that became effective Sunday offered 24,000 of 25,000 customers up to 22 times more money than they were supposed to receive during the promotion.

When casino employees noticed the error, they sent out apology letters and explained exactly what customers were supposed to receive, based on how much they played previously. The casino also threw in a $30 restaurant voucher or a free night at the casino hotel.

Offers mailed to repeat visitors are based on a database the casino maintains, said Mike Thomas, Diamond Jack's marketing director. The casino conducts most of its marketing through direct mail.

"There are two stratifications for players, upper level and standard player," Thomas said. "They (printers) used the upper level amounts for all the mailers."

Casino employees contacted the state police as soon as they found the error. State police regulate gaming and must approve changes to promotions.

"Yesterday was the first redemption day for the vouchers," Thomas said Monday. "We had a big line of people coming in. Most people really were happy and understanding. We had some people that were angry, and I understand that."
