
NEW YORK -- As reported by the Syracuse Post-Standard: "The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma sent a letter to Cayuga and Seneca counties Wednesday, strongly voicing opposition to the proposed casino
deal for the rival Cayuga Indian Nation.
"In a three-page letter, Chief Paul Spicer urged the counties to reject the proposed settlement.
"... The Oklahoma tribe, which has ancestral ties to the Finger Lakes, has been trying for years to open a casino in New York state.
"Under the settlement offer announced last month, the New York Cayugas would get to open and operate a casino at a site to be determined..."
